Body Product Care Instuctions

Our products are natural and minimally processed.

Average shelf life varies from 6 - 12 months. Please keep your new goodies out of heat, sunlight and humidity to extend shelf life.

During hot weather it's advised to refrigerate any balms, creams or salves for 15 minutes prior to use. The ingredients have a naturally low melting point and may need to "firm up."

If you live in a hot climate, we have non-toxic reusable cold packs for purchase. The cold packs help to reduce potential melting, ensuring your order arrives intact.

In cold weather, products may be a firmer consistency. Simply warm in your hand before application.

We also use a variety of botanicals. Please read ingredient labels prior to use. With any new product it's always best to spot test 24-hours prior to application.

We are not responsible for adverse reactions to product. It is the customer's responsibility to test for skin sensitivities prior to use.

To Spot Test: Apply a small amount of product covering 1/2 to 1 inch of the inner forearm. After 24 hours if no reaction has occurred, proceed!

Please do not use if you notice redness, irritation or other reactions.

Why does my insect repellent look like its separated?

New Earth natural insect repellent contains a blend of essential oils and carrier oils which naturally seperate from the spray base as we do not use emulsifiers. This is perfectly normal. Shake the bottle well prior to application.

My sunscreen looks gritty, is it ok?

New Earth Non-Nano Zinc Organic Sunscreen and Body Butters are made with only natural materials. When the items are produced they are smooth, but depending on your climate or storage conditions the product can become soft and solidify again. Occasionally, if the oils melt & solidify at different rates, they may clump together forming tiny granules. This is normal because this product contains natural oils and does not affect the quality of the product. To avoid this we recommend storing your sunscreen or body butter in a cool place or even the refrigerator if you live in an excessively hot climate. We recommend first warming the sunscreen by rubbing between your hands, then applying to the skin for smoother application.

I love my soap, how should I store it until I am ready to use it?

New Earth handmade artisan soaps are completley natural and made with essential oils. Like many other soaps, the best way to store them is to keep them in a DRY cool area. Do not wrap your soaps in plastic or keep them in a sealed conatiner without air circulation. While you may want to preserve the scent by wrapping the soap, preventing air flow will cause the soap to 'sweat'. You can also store your soap in a paper bag or cardboard box if desired.

Will New Earth make custom products for my wedding/baby shower/party?

YES! If you would like to create a custom item for your special occasion, please contact us at Contact@NewEarthInfo.com with your request and any questions you might have. Please allow ample time before your special event to process your order. Please note that larger cold pressed soaps have a cure time of 6 weeks minimum. Glycerin soaps are available more quickly, but allergy statment varies.
